GU10 1HL Surrey

Boiler: KWB Multifire (MF2)

Fuel Type:  Wood chip P16B (G30) M40

Project type: New boiler installation

Project Scope

Shoelands Farm is part of the Hampton Estate, which is a traditional agricultural estate located between Guildford and Farnham on the southern slopes of Hogs Back. It lies within the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Beauty. The estate produce their own chip and were particularly interested in the new cutting device fitted to the fuel feeding mechanism of the KWB, which helps to ensure longer and more irregular pieces of wood chip are dealt with before they cause any problems.

KWB UK designed, supplied and installed a new KWB Multifire (MF2) wood chip boiler at Shoelands Farm. The project posed a number of interesting elements with the installation having to be designed to fit into the space previously occupied by the older boiler and fuel handing equipment. This included ensuring the height of the wood chip stirrer and conveyor was fully compatible with the height of the existing fuel store and crucially provided a smooth transition of wood fuel between the store and boiler.

Benefits to customer

Shoelands Farm now has a new KWB Multifire boiler which is fully RHI compliant. In addition to this the new boiler has a higher efficiency, producing more heat whist using less fuel. The installation was designed in a way to utilize the existing wood chip store, helping to keep costs down. The unique KWB cellular wheel cutting device helps to reduce possible fuel feeding issues and the intelligent design has helped to keep the cost to a minimum.
